So as some of you may already know I am currently working in a large Numeonrean force and I have been looking through my books and saw Thrydans profile. My first thought was he is not bad for under a 100pts and my second thought was to make a 500pts list! If this list is okay I may do it as a side project to my Numenoreans for whenever I have some Dunlending Models. Here it is

Pillagers of the Westfold 500pts

Warband 1 - 216pts
Thrydan Wolfsbane
W/ Horse
X12 Dunlending Warriors
W/ X4 Shields, X4 Two-Handed Weapons, X4 Bows, Banner

Warband 2 - 156pts
Dunlending Chieftain
W/ Shield
X12 Dunlending Warriors
W/ X4 Shields, X4 Two-Handed Weapons, X4 Bows

Warband 3 - 126pts
Dunlending Chieftain
W/ Two-Handed Weapon
X12 Wild Men of Dunland
W/ X6 Two-Handed Weapons

Totals - 498pts, 39 Models, 20 Break Point, 8 Shots/ Turn

awesome list! I'm sure you'd find it would struggle against shooty armies becuas eof the low defence of the wild men. As far as fluff goes you can't get any better if your going all Dunland.

I'd maybe mix the warbands up so the Wildmen are mixed in with the other warriors. Do you have any models or is this completely hypothetical?

I'd maybe rearange the warbands, have a couple fewer two handed axes and more shields.

Thrydan, horse
6 Warriors with shields, 2 with great weapons, 4 Wildmen.
Chieftain
6 Warriors with shields, 2 with great weapons, 4 Wildmen.
Chieftain
8 Warriors with bows, 4 Wildmen

Something like that maybe? Keep the wildmen infront as a meat shield, or behing the shields to keep them alive.

I thought wildmen could take spears? If so I would give as many as possible spears and use them to support the Dunlending warriors because it is unlikely you will be able to get 3 warbands worth of combat troops fighting the enemy all at once without using support.....

A quick flick through the book confirms that no, they cannot have spears. They only have the option for 2 handed weapons (some of which look like spears on the model, which is why i had to double check myself)

I love a fluffy army, and this most certainly is one. it will struggle against competetive forces, but if you have a fluff off (for example i have a 500 point all foot Rohan list) you'll probably find it great fun to play.

Oh, well that was what I was thinking of too. I always thought that those things were spears....Thanks for clearing that up!
