I'm looking for players near the Texarkana area. I have not started buying yet because I don't want to get a WOTR army just to discover that there's nowhere within 100 miles to go play. If there is anyone near the Texarkana area, please be aware I would not have a playable army until at least late september to early october.

Isn't that where the "Bandit & Snowman" loaded up their Coors beer?

Loved that movie :-)

That is indeed the home of the legendary Sheriff Buford T. Justice.

Somehow I don't think LotR (SBG or WotR) would be his forte....

Have you checked for any wargames clubs in your area? Some clubs cover a range of historical, fantasy and sci-fi genres, so you may get someone who is already playing, or be able to use your powers of persuasion to inveigle them into trying it out. Good luck!

There was one club about thirty minutes away, it fell apart two months ago, though. Other than that, all there is is this dusty little hole-in-the-wall hobby shop in Texarkana, and I've posted a little bulletin there about LOTR but no one has shown any interest. Maybe I should take up 40k, because there's two or three players who hold monthly meetings there for 40k.
