Hi, has anyone seen a way to do this effectively? Just looking for ideas as the mounted version seems very expensive on ebay.

I was thinking about this earlier in the year, and in the end I decided I couldn't be bothered so I decided to splash the cash, so to speak, but managed to get him for £20!!! Much cheaper than I thought he would have been. He's one of my favourite miniatures ever though, and I think he's easily worth the 35 he's going for on ebay at the moment.

The obvious conversion would be from Faramir Captain of Ithilien, but he's going to cost you even more than Isildur. Elessar would be easy too, but I presume you'd be using him for Elendil. The armour they have is quite fancy and distinctive, and so you won't be able to find it on just any model, so if you don't mind doing more than just a headswap, then something like Imrahil or even just a KoDA could work.

Hope I helped, but he really is a beautiful miniature

Thanks, I think I will probably just spend the money and buy him

I played my first points match with Numenor the other day with him on foot, I was just thinking it is a no brainer to get him on horse now

Yeah. If he has the ring he is great at taking out other heroes on the charge with a support. I never run him as my main hero though, cause the Rig makes him too unreliable. Gil-Galad or Elendil's job. Isildur is a reliable side hero and a great leader, as there isn't really a good counter to him, since immobilising him won't work if you're clever and try to keep a kingsguard supporting him. Having said that, even if he does get immobilised, he'll still have higher fight than pretty much anything due to the ring, which obviously is what makes him so good, fun and unique to use

I put his head on top of a King Aragorn mounted. It turned out really great! I can link a picture of you'd liked to see.

Yeah that'd look nice for sure, but everyone uses him for Elendil, so then you'd have two more or less identical heroes in your army

If you would link a picture, I'd love to see that!
