I agree, but sometimes it looked too shiny and new. The "lived in" universe of the originals was far more believable for me.

I view it as intentional, to set up a contrast between the Republic at its peak, and then after 20 years of Imperial rule. TCW does a good job of exploring the grittier side of things.

I really like the cartoon, specially after the 1st season. And Knights of the Old Republic is a fantastic storyline too.

Considering what Lucas said in the video it will be something completely original though... and they announced a movie to be released in just a couple years. You dont make a Star Wars movie in just that time unless you already have a good draft of the story.

Any director suggestions? Would you like the get the old cast back? Recast all of them (that sounds bad just typing it)? Get some cameos from them?

I think this last is the better choice if they really go for a 'sequel' of the original trilogy.

OK so taking this post to the nth degree... we already have Lego LOTR... what if Disney buys the rights to LOTR!

I doubt anyone would sell the rights for that. It's worth WAY too much for New Line/SZC to sell it.

I'm studying Corporate Finance as part of a Degree in Commerce at the moment and my assignment for the current course I'm working on is to see if Disney stands to make any money out of this investment.

I'll let you know what I come up with.

Well, based on past experience, we can expect the next 3 movies to make around 2.5-3 billion dollars total. Add in the amount of money they make from franchising, and this investment should pay back in about 10 years. Then if you take the "new movie every 3 years" to mean that they'll be making more than just 3 more movies, you can expect Disney to make A BUNCH of money off this in the long run. They'll probably pay this back before they get all the money back from buying Marvel.
