Is that Compton Verney Morgoth? I'm pretty sure I've been there.

I live in Warwickshire, which was Tolkien's inspiration for the Shire, he didn't live very far away in Birmingham and most of the midlands countryside is similar. Some good pictures there Eorling, I agree with the Westfold. I sure could mistake that for the land of the horse with a few Rohirim patroling around their borders. On guard for those pesky uruk-hai. Off topic, hows the model making coming along? Drum

Whilst on the coast of Southern Spain, I took a trip up the mountain of Sierra Bermeja, which is just under 1500 metres high. It was just me and my guide, and I think we saw one other person along the way. It was a very peaceful and tranquil place to be, and in certain places had a certain Middle-Earth feel to it. . .                 I'm sure there were some Ents keeping an eye on us . . .   This is Estepona, the town near where we stayed.  Here is a shot of the rock of Gibraltar, with the Atlas mountains of north Morocco in the distance.  Thanks for looking!

Haha, that last picture caught me unawares. Looks like you had an awesome mini-adventure, and it looks like the guide came in handy too - I bet it'd be easy to get lost up there! Was it really hot or just comfortably hot? |

It was a ridiculous 42C when we got off the plane, but it cooled to around 30-34C most of the week. On the mountain itself it was breezy but still warm which surprised me a little. All I had on was a sleeveless shirt, shorts and a pair of sandals (Not a word, Kev!)

I recognise those mountains - I was climbing only a few miles away from there around Easter. Amazing scenery around there, good that the Ents were around to enjoy it too.

Nothing compared to most on here but here's a couple of snaps I took at a Music Festival in the Black Mountains in Wales earlier this year.        I'll have to see if I can dig out ones from Torquay, Malta and the Christmas Seal trip. |

ahaha, i live in torquay so cant wait to see your ones of here, some of the areas are great for pics but a little further to dartmoor and dartmouth they get better, i live near brunel woods and that has always reminded me of amon hen with the big totem poles and staues made a brunel. |

Oh how I envy you. We went to Torquay on holiday in July and could not have asked for better weather. Honestly couldn't tell we were in the UK. All hail the English Riviera. |

ha, dont bother... extreme wind rain and lighting caused a complete power cut at 7.30 in the morning, was genuinely so scared walking to school with no traffic lights or anything on for about a minute, pitch black with cars everywhere...

Tolkien took his honeymoon in Somerset, on a trip to Cheddar Gorge it gave him the idea of Helms Deep, true story.
