So I was re watching the two tower.....Aragorn meets with Eomer and says they tracked a pack of uruk hair....

So, saruman just bred these things no? How does he know what they are called already? Were there Mordor Uruk Hai before them?

Thats racist. No really though ok. I thought they actually had that title. I thought goblins and orcs were interchangeable and uruks were there own name. Thanks.

It is a word in Black Speech because Sauron was the original breeder of Uruk-hai. I believe he used them to attack Ithilien during his rise to power in eye form, and thus seized Minas Ithil (reclaimed as Minas Morgul) and Cirith Ungol (where his Uruks remain, Samwise encounters them near the end of ROTK). This would have been before Saruman's creation of Uruks, and with Ithilien being a region of Gondor, it's likely word would have reached Aragorn, a ranger of Gondor, about this new greater breed of orc. Sauron also instructed Saruman about the birthing of Uruks and ordered him to create them, so it's certain that Sauron himself had already done so.

Iirc Aragorn has fought under a different name in Gondor.
It's plausible he encountered Mordor Uruks there I think.

An Uruk just means Big Orc essentially, a title used for the bigger and stronger orcs that as said above were first used to attack the ilithien. Basically Uruk-hai lift and orcs don't :P
