I can't really choose, because each of the movies were good for different things. FotR had the best plot. TTT had really good fight scenes that weren't interrupted. RotK had even better scenes than TTT, but they were cut up by scenes of Frodo and Sam, so throughout RotK I have to have the clicker ready in my hands so I can skip to the action.
