For me it would have to be Samwise. If it weren't for him the Ring probarbly would not have been destroyed, and he is such a Morale raiser

Not only does he wear some wicked armour but you just have to like the way he mocks them when he appears.

Haldir is probarbly my favourite, from both the books and films, although he is only quite a minor character.

Arwen. She's a really great character, and she's hot..

I always liked Ereinion Gil-Galad, probably because he is the last high king of the Noldor and when he rules just about everything is about to go wrong so he is a sort of tragic hero

From the characters which aren't dead by the time of lotr, I'd probably pick Faramir (no idea why).

Farmir even though in the movie i beileve it makes him more evil and more nieve and he is more wise in the book plus he's a righteous aim

my favorite evil character from the films has to be Shagrat, and my favorite good character is Gandalf the Grey....I didnt like Gandalf the White as much...

Eomer is my favorite good guy, although I thought that Gimli was the best acting performance out of the whole cast.

Gollum was just awesome as well.

This actually took a lot of thought to answer sincerely !

I have never been an avid reader of books...I simply lose interest, however one book (The Hobbit), grasped me when I was young (many, many moons ago).

The Hobbit is full of awesome and fantastic characters, but sitting back and thinking, not only of The Hobbit, but the trilogy (books) aswell, it has to be Gandalf for me...,simply because when I read 'The Bridge at Khazud Dum' in 'The Fellowship of the Ring', I had already connected to the character in 'The Hobbit'...and I was devastated when I thought Gandalf had died !!!

But you gotta love Bilbo also
and Treebeard.
and Eowyn.
and Thorin.
and Bombadil.
and...

my favourite has to be Boromir.. I like the idea of a noble hero fighting for his land and people who is, unfortunately, corrupted by the Ring. I was sad when he died, but he died the most awesome death I ever saw on film.
