Solo play - Do you do it? If so, how do you do it?

I ask because it isn't really viable for me to get regular games with other players at present. Because there aren't any here. However, I do want to play, and I was hoping that some of the kind folks on this forum could shed some light on solo approaches.

I've seen the Isildur's Bane solo rules, which seem to be well regarded. I may well try them. But I wondered if there is anything else out there which doesn't tinker with the rules as written so much. Has anyone has developed a kind of simple set of AI instructions which would tell the enemy troops what to do?

There are some board games you could borrow ideas from, where you can do solo or co-op. I think some contain a deck of random activation cards that determine how the AI acts that turn. You could tailor it to specific factions too depending on how you want them to play.
