Heart heavy and short of breath we, the veterans of Ithilien, did spy the Drwarven Holdfast at the end of our forced march.

Gandalf's apprentice had received word that the mountain folk were plagued by Spiders, Orcs, Goblins.... even a Dragon. Despite long years at our head imposing King Elessar's will on the East, Prince Faramir was not one to shy from his duty. So we marched once more to the north.

We arrived to a grim spectacle, Dwarven Vault Wardens arrayed in battle-line before their keep and lookouts calling and pointing to something angry and sulfurous in the distance....

Cheers guys.

@ Mughty.Uruk, he got that for a song as part of someone's fig clear-out and carefully horded it in secret until he sprung it on me (not this game). Blimmin thing ate Aragorn. Since then, every Dragon game has been a great game. It is a really cool model and a cool one to have for when the Hobbit comes out.

We handled it by rolling for priority, then moving clockwise from the winner. Come melee time, we tended to split into pairs to resolve what seemed to be the most logical combats to get out of the way first. Jason and I play a lot and even Andy and Josh know the rules fairly well so we had a good handle on the sequence.

I generally find multiplayer more fun than single player. There is that element of fun-tension as important things happen on the table but are out of my direct control.

Hi generalripphook, technically - the army is the 4th Age Army of Ithilien. However, my Wife painted me up a Gandalf model that looked quite cool (better than I can paint, anyway) so I wanted to use it.

Bit if a theme fail there.

So "Gandalf's Apprentice" is a total retconn of the army list (ie that's actually Gandalf) so I can pretend its themed when writing the batrep.

Cheers

That happens anyway if you use artillery and/or mumakil :)
