This is an excellent article for an excellent miniature! Very inspiring!

Well, I entered a "10" for the rating, but the total rating actually went down a little. I think there must be something wrong with the rating system :(

Awcho, if you thought the article was only really worth a 1, then just say so, lol

Gone down from 9.9 to 9.1 now.

Ah well, never mind. It's the thought that counts! :D

I remember that happened once when someone voted for my article, and although it was never fixed, it is (as Freddy says) the thought that counts. I think the trick is to change the number to something else and then back to 10 to avoid this happening - it worked for me at least when I rated this article! :)

Ah thanks for letting me know. All I did is press vote, because the marker was already on 10. I'll try to remember for next time I vote ^^

While reading this great article I had an impression that it could actually be quite easy to sculpt a mini like this one

But that's just an impression :) Really wonderful article - excellent pictures and precise description of the whole process make reading it pleasurable.

Hello UKFreddybear,
I first seen this model in a gallery, either here or on TLA, but i'm so glad you made a step by step guide for it! I've always wanted to tell the sculptor of this model that it is the best lotr sculpting i've ever seen! You have really captured the character of the ent from the film! Well done! I look forward to your future projects!

Thanks to all for the positive feedback!

theniffrig, I am flattered that you regard this as the best LOTR model you've ever seen. I would personally disagree however. There are some mighty fine GW sculpts among their poorer ones and we have a lot to be thankful for.

BoromirCaptainofGondor, believe it or not, I have yet to play a game with it. I am more of a collector than a player. But I could not bring myself to buy GW's terrible generic ents. I was so annoyed as I thought that their Treebeard was pretty good and had been eagerly anticipating the release of more lovely ent sculpts. But when they came out I felt so cheated, I thought, hey, even I could do better than that rubbish! So my quest began to create decent ent models. :)

I love the ent, the eyes not so much, but the ent is simply amazing.

I joined The One Ring after seeing this, I agree with the rest everything is great about it, and its also inspired me to make my own. I've just finished my wire skeleton and fixing it to a base so I'll be looking over this from time to time. thanks again :)
