Nice model and a fair price (for Forgeworld). I'm getting him!

Love the model, but will have to wait on getting him until other stuff becomes available too. Need the free shipping on 250£! ;)

Anyone have any idea which character they will release next?

The new Thranduil mini is certainly the most beautiful one ever made for SBGiME ... But for this price, I would have prefered a version of Thranduil on foot instead of the piece of ruins (which should have been proposed as an option ...)

I agree. If you want to run him, you still need a foot model or a proxy now.

I was just going to say that 40 GBP seems like a pretty decent price for Thranduil. But I agree with Wayfarer, I'd rather have a foot model than the diorama ruins that it comes with. Still, I was expecting it to be more expensive, so kudos there.

I agree that a revised foot model would have been preferable, but that's probably GW trying to save a few quid on their finecast version (included with the mounted on horse pack) ;)

Fantastic model. Trully, beautiful.

I am trying to find any other release from nowadays or old LOTR times, which made me speachless like this one.

For sure, I must have it!

It really is spectacular isn't it?

The ME team has been on point with their releases lately. The trolls, ogres, and berserkers are great, and Thranduil might just be my favourite character model in the range.

Now I have to resist the temptation to start an Ironhills army on top of a Mirkwood and Erebor Reclaimed army, not to mention the hundreds of lotr figures I have unpainted. Why Forgeworld, why?

I'm with you all the way threre! I do hope that for the prices of the new range the model is released with either the 'champions of erebor' included (so that you have 2 crew options) or the champions chariot as a standalone model. I'd resent having buy a chariot and then a 40k style upgrade to make it into that version.

That being said, i'm really amazed with the effort being put into these models. It has made my love for the story / films / game even greater, please keep up the great work FW! :gimli:

I would not be surprised if the Champions get released as a pack that you can buy along side a chariot to replace the crew, either that or an entirely new version of it with a scenic base...

Post subject:  Re: New Forgeworld Hobbit Releases

oh boy I hope not a scenic base, lol!

I didn't want to seem negative in my post ; just making the point that to buy a chariot then a separate champion crew pack would mean only 1 chariot but more money to upgrade it (as well as having 4 'redundant' dwarves) - if i've got to spend out i'd rather do it on 2 chariots :)

I forgot to ask - anyone know the base size? looks like an undecorated mumak base at a guess...

Post subject:  Re: New Forgeworld Hobbit Releases

I would assume a bunny sleigh sized base.

Post subject:  Re: New Forgeworld Hobbit Releases

Andreas guessed that the base size was that of "dragon". Are all of the rams a unique pose or are there only 3 poses? Lots of room on that base anyway for customizing. It will be neat to see what the community does with it!

Post subject:  Re: New Forgeworld Hobbit Releases

The base is a mighty 170x105mm (according to Keith.. who is part of the Middle-earth team!).
