SO. VERY. JEALOUS.

Congrats SD, you win at life :-)

Sprues look great, although I guess the Tauriel face is the sculpt rather than the paint job, it's a shame as I don't think she's quite up to scratch with the other rangers, she just seems a bit bulkier. Still a great sculpt though and I'll be picking her up on Saturday.

So chuffed about the Laketown stuff, work might as well just send my pay-check direct to GW for the next few months.

The Gundabad orcs are huge! And it looks like the Lakemen forgot their sheilds in their armoury...

Thanks!

I know, you've dressed up as the Cadbury's Caramel Bunny Rabbit and gone round to Peter Jackson's house?

Dang it! That Beorn looks... wrong. I think his head and chest are too small. I think that's what they're going for in the movie, but he still looks off. I hope it's the angle, but it looks more like a gorilla.

Wait....haven't we already gotten warriors of Lake Town?

Also Fighting uruk-hai will easily fill in for gundabad orcs. They look the same.

Look at the hordes of batch painted hunter orcs! They actually have on one of the ones they painted for AUJ in the bottom left corner and you can really see the difference

Beorn in the trailer looks very distinctly brown, whilst the book version is black. GW Tolkien purists at work? ;)

=Brown and fat. GW's rather thin and black. Perhaps this sculpt is based on an earlier concept image?

Shame about Tauriel - the face does seem a bit squished. It's such a shame, because presumably it's a perry sculpt - and their historical plastics are so good they put GW's efforts to shame. That said... the Laketown minis look gorgeous. Can't wait for those to come out, I might pick up some Dale troops beforehand, so I've got something I can ally them with. All three armies together are going to be useful for any "Battle of Dale" scenarios I might cook up.

Not convinced by the paintjob on the Gundabad Orcs - they're way too shiny. I can see myself using those new technical paints to corrode and rust their armour. That would look sweet.

Beorn looks 'off'. It could just be the angle of the shot, combined with a pose that's most certainly not supposed to be looked at from that angle, making the Bear look daft. In any event, if it ends up not being great, I'm sure I can find a suitable miniature Bear on the Net somewhere. Hell, even one of those children's PVC things they sell in the Early Learning Centre might do, if I stick it on a base.

and THANK YOU FOR THE PREVIEWS! It's very much appreciated. Especially as two days ago I was convinced GW had just popped out a half-hearted supplement to get rid of their warehouse stock. Now I'm genuinely excited for the future! I'm going to be so broke!

Yup, 4 shields have arms attached and 2 are 'clean' (for lack of a better term).
