Those are all nice e obviously but I really love your river. One of the more enjoyable ones I've seen. I based it on the scenario in the book.It did not get as much play as I would have liked. I have ordered some new molds. My next project will be the Hobbiton mill. I am going to build a movie versi...

So old man willow you didn't buy ANY Hobbit line stuff?? There's a lot of plastic but you said resin you don't collect so.....just curious. I stopped collecting when GW started switching to resin. I purchased most of the Plastic sets and constructed Goblin Town and a Barrel rider scenario board. I ...

Ok, well my point still stands. You complain that GW doesn't have anything new, but even when they DID have new stuff in the last few years, you refused to buy anything.

Seriously :P You have no idea what I buy.

Troll away again.

Since when have you used ANY GW models? Seriously, I've never seen you say that you were interested in any LotR models made more recently than 1989. I have at least 500 points of all of the LOTR Armies. I purchased all of the LOTR models as they were released. I purchased several complete collectio...

It is really hard for a business to support all parties when one product out performs the other. As much as I love LOTR, 40k is where GW makes their money. That's why they dropped everything else. You can not sell it if you do not make it. :o I am not interested in 40K so I am not interested in GW....

I have not tried that brand. I do not use the Woodland Scenic version because it turns yellow.

If you have a hair dryer try reheating. I do not have much confidence that will remove bubbles. It may smooth it out a bit. A real heat gun will be too hot.

I can't make suggestions with so little information. What did you use to create the effect?

Thanks. :) Yes, these are the only concept pictures that are available, but I need some real footage. Having visited Bag End in NZ, I didn't see it and so am 95% it was never built so there is no footage. I think it only ever existed in concept and on the floor plans. I would love to be proved wron...

Great link, thanks - and thanks to OMW for photos, too. A nagging question remains about the mill, new or old - where does the water powering the wheel flow from? http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae283/CRTraylor3499/Bagend/hobbithobbitonmapa3.jpg Dance Magic? :) Sorry :) wrong Movie. Yes you paint it first. Use the color you like best. I used True Blue craft paint in a project I did several years ago.I am going to recommend a product from Woodland Scenic. Realistic Water and Water effects are brand names from Woodland Scenic. I have some WIP photos from a non LOTR projects I wil...

To provide some balance, here some finished pieces of a guy who's rather happy with them: http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=80671.msg1016807#msg1016807 More pictures and information on the pieces earlier in the thread. Of course, they're not absolutely amazing, but that's not something y...

I have never been a fan of vacuform kits. You can use expanding foam but depending on brand it may be more difficult than starting from scratch.

I can see the appeal. Hirst Arts are messy. They are cheap, once you get over the initial investment. Extruded foam scenery like Ziterdes produces are the closest thing on the market right now, and they are also expensive. Honestly, I'm surprised Noch hasn't come up with this idea for their Ziterde...

The advantage of Hirst Arts blocks is you can make your own designs. http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae283/CRTraylor3499/water/DSCF5521.jpg Some examples with laser cut wood photo frames converted into railings. I have a 3D print railing from Shapeway in progress. Ramps vs steps some of the parts...

I do not usually comment if I do not back a kick-starter. I did not back this one because texturing foam is so easy to do.
