It was when I saw thew first of the Deagostini figures on sale. They were the Goblins and the rest is history. Ironically I hate those models. I have kept them, exactly as I first painted them and they are an inspiration when I see how my painting has developed. Not to the high and mighty standards ...

They are wonderful figures and I think would fit in perfectly if the scale is right. Can anyone answer that question.
They are the best alternatives I have seen in my limited experience.

That would be an awful waste. All that information and expert advice disappearing like that...and all because of one person. Some people have no shame.

Look at the Games Workshop masterclass for Boromir. They have a great guide there for painting the shield.

Like I said earlier, I'm afraid I don't have the time to browse around looking for different options, but this has opened my eyes. Thanks to all for that.
If I ever get chance I will have a look around, but that will be hard in the foreseeable future.

Like all works of art, they look so easy, yet any normal mortal struggles to replecate. The step by step guide is flawless -excellant work and a joy to behold.

So i stand corrected. Perhaps my question should have been - Why do we only see GW models ? I understand what you are saying that there are other traders, but I haven't really seen any. As my interest is purely the Hobby side, where are these figures ? Are they the 28mm so they will at least match o...

These are the first of my set of 12 orcs I am working on. I am looking at using a similar pallet for the rest. My intention is to also use some of the colour schemes on different parts of different models to give the a uniform look. Or at least they look from the same rabble. Does anyone have any un...

Forgive my lack of knowledge !!! I have looked around and it seemed to me their wasn't much else either readily available or a good alternative - hence almost every photo I have ever seen is of a GW one. I have seen some other figures, Ebob does some great stuff, but again, you don't see many of the...

Well what if it happened ? What would we all do ? I know we have our complaints but just imagine if it happened. Who would take the mantle and provide what we all love and crave ? Get your thinking hats on, because a supply of figures etc on Ebay would only last so long and the prices would rocket.....

Try to work some black lining into the face to start creating sharper features like the eyes. No offence but yours blend in too much. Get the eyes done first is my tip, then basecoat the skin leaving a fine line between eye and skin. Do the same at the hairline. Good luck and like you say - water do...

Fantastic work. I never liked the Elrond model but the job you have done on it has changed my opinion. Superb freehand.
The expression you have got on Gamling is spot on and excellant shading. A lesson to us all I think.

Firstly, for a four year gap that's some good work you have produced. I would second the eye reduction and also if you haven't got any, invest in some Devlan Mud and other washes. They are fantastic. You can give the waistcoat a coating of Devlan mud now and you will be pleased with the shading it g...
