Except the banner is double range and worth 20-30 points on its own. I think it's costed fairly. |

You can't get wounded if you don't lose the fight. |

Except for the two WE with TD needing a spear, I like the OP list. Agree somewhat with WhoelsebutHaldir, you could drop the Sentinels and buy more troops, or buy TD for all your spears + more troops. Or you could go the other way drop the captain, replace him with the stormcaller, buy more TD and co... |

We've been using the one ring book as I just couldn't be bothered spending all that money on getting so many different books when they all used to be in just one. Well, they were never "in just one", the OR book only has a subset of the all the profiles. In any case, the new Haldir profil... |

I'd say the extra Might and Strength is worth it the loss of the banner effect. Gives you more flexibility in where you send him. |

Agreed, there's nothing in his rule that makes wounding any different. |

I don't think there is a FAQ on it. But if he's getting his last blow in, he's not dead yet, so why not allow the use of Might? |

There's no fixed number, it depends how you set up the siege, how many ways in, other objectives, etc. 2:1 is probably a good start, but every siege is different. |

Simply due to maneuverability. If you have more than 6 you won't be able to fit all of them within a stand fast or a heroic move Just to accentuate this point, the worst thing that can happen to cavalry is to get caught on a charge by infantry. You're paying lots of extra points for abilities you c... |

Some of the profile decisions are made with gameplay in mind rather than sticking with the hard and fast rules of what armour or shields do. Yes, the system is a bit Richter-ish, in that profiles don't always conform to cost expectations, and also there is very little wiggle room. Consider that D9+ ... |

Only 5 spears? At least half your shields should have spears, if not more. And it looks like you have 6 points to play with, when it doubt, add spears. |

Provided that: a) all targets are equally visible (no in-the-ways) b) all targets have the same defence (or same wound roll required) ...then we normally allow all the shots to be rolled together, then all the wounds of any hits to be rolled together. However, before rolling the wounding dice the sh... |

Oh dear. Seems I got whafrag to derail the thread. Oops! Sorry  I guess I'm kinda passionate about it, partly because I was totally intimidated by the idea when I hadn't done any, and after I'd done them I wondered what the big deal was. That and...the game is hugely better with more terrain.... |
