| i really like your rangers, and i think that the swan knights are also looking good. I think i the 'golden touch' is interested though i would love to see another highlight on the silver - perhaps mithril silver? |

Thanks, lorderkenbrand. I actually used mithril silver for the final highlights. When you look at GW's Skoda the seem much brighter. The thing is that, IMHO, the choice of very bright colours makes even the armour look much brighter.
I have to admit that I don't really like the way that these models were painted by GW's eavy metal team - too bright imo and the highlights on the armour are not really visible. _________________ They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night. |

It's been a while since I posted anything here...
Anyway, during the holidays I was working on a big commission set. Here are some pics of the finished DA army (click to see a larger image) :

The pic of the rangers is a bit dark, I'll try to add a better one.
Now, I will bo focusing on my armies (Goblins and Dwarves), so expect some pictures soon |

| That's very nice Viruk! I really like the gold you used on the Swan Knights and Imrahil, it makes those oversized helmets look much better (though still oversized). As for the Rangers I admire your black leather and the dirt on the capes, two things I haven't quite learned how to paint yet. Keep up the good work! |

They look great Viruk, especially love the gold on your Swan Knights, it really improves the appearence of those guys two-fold. I see you ended up changing the colour scheme for the rangers eh , what elicited the change? |

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated!
I changed the colour scheme of SKoDA, because I didn't really like the original one - too bright imho. So I decided to add some variety to the Knights by using gold. As far as the rangers are concerned, I was simply experimenting with colour schemes until I found one that I liked. There are actually three slightly different variations in my colour scheme (to deal with the "twins"). When I get a chance (the minis are at the client's place ), I'll take some more pics. |

Bring on those dwarves and goblins! Can't wait for those.
Wow! All that effort for someone else to enjoy! I can't even think what I'd charge for a commission (not that anyone would want to commission me to paint anything!).
They are great-looking figures, Viruk. _________________ Thculpting Tip No.1 : Never lick a thcalpel. |

I've been experimenting with the dipping technique for a while. I think that it is a great way of painting very quickly and maintaining good quality.
Anyway, this was a test model for my dwarf army:
It takes approximately 15 minutes to finish a mini using this technique. I wrote an article about it on www.mitril.pl - here's a link (more pics there). I will translate it and submit it to O-R but not until the end of my exam session... _________________ They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night. |

I used GW snow - I think that it looks quite notural once glued to the base.
Thanks for the comment _________________ They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night. |

I think an article would be great on this technique. Very well done! _________________ No one feels as helpless as the owner of a sick goldfish. |

Almost the end of the exams (at least in the Netherlands)
I hope you will still write the artical, cause I am really looking forward for this. I don't like painting very much, but when I'm painting, I always want the best result, but it takes so much time. But with this, it can be done much faster _________________ Eclipse Painting - Let Miniatures Shine - Commissions |
